Epion iPad Hygiene

At Epion Health, the safety and health of your staff and patients is very important to us. This email will give you an understanding of how to properly disinfect your Epion devices during cold and flu season. In addition, with the current spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) it is important to strictly enforce these rules with your staff. Please follow the steps below:

  1. Unplug the iPad from the wall charger or docking station.
  2. Use gloves if your hands are sensitive to cleaning products.
  3. Wipe the screen and body of the iPad and case thoroughly, using a left-to-right motion (see image below).
  4. Allow the device to air dry.

  • The CDC has recommended alcohol based cleaners with 70% or higher alcohol content to kill the COVID-19 virus
  • Allow the device to fully dry before handing out to patients
  • Devices should be cleaned after each use during flu season, cold season or if there is a risk of spreading any large scale disease, such as the Coronavirus

According to Apple®, window cleaners, aerosol sprays, solvents, ammonia, or abrasives should not be usedUse a 70% isopropyl alcohol wipe or Clorox Disinfecting Wipes. You may gently wipe the hard, nonporous surfaces of your Apple® product, such as the display, keyboard, or other exterior surfaces. Avoid getting moisture in any opening, and don't submerge your Apple® product in any cleaning agents.
